<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine a modulation system based on the quality of a communication line detected accurately in a radio communication apparatus where a modulation system being used is switched among a plurality of modulation systems. <P>SOLUTION: A radio receiving means receives an error corrected signal transmitted from a communication partner by radio, an error correcting/decoding means 2 performs error correction and decoding of the receive signal, an error recorrecting/encoding means 3 recorrects the error of a signal subjected to error correction/decoding by a system identical to an error correcting/decoding system employed when the signal is received, communication line quality detecting means 4-7 detect the quality of communication lines based on a received signal before and after it is subjected to error recorrection, a modulation system determining means 8 determines a modulation system being used based on the quality of a communication line, a modulation means 9 performs modulation using a modulation system thus determined, and a radio transmission means transmits a modulated signal by radio. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
