The invention concerns a device for converting a term (T) which shows the product of a first operand (A) with a second operand (B), to obtain a representation which shows an integral quotient (Q) relative to a module, and a remainder (R), the integral quotient (Q) being defined by T/N, T being the term and N the module, and the remainder (R) being defined by T mod N, N being the module. Said device comprises a system for modular reduction of the term by using the module and a modular reduction of the term by using a secondary module which is greater than the module, so as to obtain the remainder (R) and the secondary remainder (R1). The remainder (R) and the secondary remainder (R1) both supply a combination system (12) so as to obtain the integral quotient (Q). The inventive device enables, through double execution of an order of modular multiplication, present on current cryptoprocessors, calculation of the integral quotient as well, hence the result of the DIV operation. |
