<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve maintaining sufficient traction characteristic over a long period of time, as projection of irregularity is gradually decreased during operation of a speed change gear in a disc for traction drive having fine irregularity on a rolling surface. <P>SOLUTION: In the disc for a traction drive type speed change gear, a power roller for transmitting rotation is inclinably interposed between an input disc and an output disc. When a circular center of the rolling contact surface T is set as reference on a center cross section along a rotation shaft C of the disc D, hardness at the position of depth of 50-100μm from the outermost surface of the rolling surface T is Hv 750 or more in a range of±25°from an angle wherein a speed change ratio becomes 1.2:1.
