PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid excess torque increase and reduce speed change shock upon downshifting, in regard to an engine equipped with an automatic transmission. SOLUTION: A rotation synchronous torque calculating part 201 calculates a rotation synchronous torque TQTMSTAC for achieving engine speed after downshifting. A target engine torque calculating part 202 calculates a required engine torque TTEIF according to an accelerator opening (211), a torque increase amount maximum value dTSFTi set for each gear (212), and, by adding up these figures, a rotation synchronous limit torque TRQMDLT (213). The rotation synchronous torque TQTMSTAC and the rotation synchronous limit torque TRQMDLT are compared, and the smaller one is outputted as the target engine torque (rotation synchronous control target torque) TRQNUT (213).
