<p>The invention relates to an optical method of detecting surface defects and/or unfilled finish on the finish (3) of a container having an axis of symmetry X. The inventive method comprises the following steps consisting in: illuminating the surface (s) of the finish (3) of the container with an incident light beam and recovering the light beams reflected by the finish of the container using a matrix array camera, in order to determine the presence of a surface defect and/or unfilled finish. More specifically, the method consists in: using a uniform ring of light (C) which converges at a point of convergence located on the axis of symmetry (X) of the container and which has a variable diameter (D) and/or a variable width (E); and selecting a diameter (D) for the convergent light ring (C) with a given value in relation to the average incident angle ( alpha ) required to illuminate the surface (s) of the finish (3) of the container and/or a width (E) for the convergent uniform light ring (C) with a given value in relation to the width (L) of the surface (s) of the finish (3) of the container.</p> |
