<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biological treatment method for sewage at the time of rainy weather, capable of efficiently treating sewage at the time of rainy weather by removing an accumulated inert substance. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for biologically treating sewage by introducing sewage into a biological treatment process at the time of rainy weather, at least a part of the mixed liquid of an aeration tank, which contains the inert substance accumulated in the inflow water tank of the biological treatment process, or return sludge is passed through a screen or a liquid cyclone to separate the inert substance and the separated liquid is returned to the biological treatment process.
