PURPOSE: A down coiler for wire rod is provided which is capable of coiling a wire rod that is a coiling object on a bobbin uniformly and stably by subtly controlling rotation speed of a bobbin holder correspondingly to tension variation of the wire rod. CONSTITUTION: In a down coiler for wire rod comprising a driving disk(30) in which a plural magnets(31) are laid with being spaced apart from each other in an equal circumferential distance, and which is installed at a driving motor(20) positioned with being spaced apart from one side of base frame(10) in a certain distance; an interlocking disk(50) which is installed at an end of bobbin holder(40) and interlockingly connected to the driving disk by magnetic force with being oppositely spaced apart from the driving disk in a gap, wherein the bobbin holder is rotationally installed by passing through the base frame from the other side to one side of the base frame toward the driving disk; and a tension control member(60) rotationally installed by penetrating the base frame from the front side adjacent to the bobbin holder, the down coiler for wire rod is characterized in that an operating member(70) is connected to free end of one side of the tension control member so that the operating member is directed to the gap between the driving disk and the interlocking disk, and a magnetic force control member(80) is attached to an end part of the operating member so that the magnetic force control member goes in and out the gap between the driving disk and the interlocking disk.
