Water is released by the valve when the animal bites on a sleeve button (9) with a first stop (10) that can be urged against a second stop (12) in the valve casing. The second stop position can be altered in order to vary the distance travelled by the sleeve when it is bitten on, enabling the amount of water dispensed to be proportional to the bite pressure. |
