PURPOSE: A starting apparatus of a reciprocating compressor is provided to prevent crash between instruments due to stroke of a motor without microcomputer circuit by switching toward a capacitor after reaching specific stroke. CONSTITUTION: A starting apparatus of a reciprocating compressor comprises a PTC(Positive Temperature Coefficient,31), a condenser(C) and a reciprocating compressing portion(L.COMP). The PTC maintains power under specific voltage or current supplying to a motor in short circuit and opens in specific time. The condenser is connected to a source of electricity supplied toward the motor in specific time. The reciprocating compressing portion drives the motor in stable stroke by receiving the source of electricity through the PTC or the condenser. Thereby crash of instruments is prevented without microcomputer circuit.
