PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide control methods of an optimum track center and a radial tilt position for satisfying the property for securing the reliability of the information, while these control methods can uniquely decide the track position (track offset) where signal amplitudes from each prepit arranged to be shifted from a track center become almost equal and maximum, and the radial tilt position. SOLUTION: In the optical spot positional control in the track direction on an information recording medium and the tilt (radial tilt) control in the track direction, such a condition that the signal amplitudes of each prepit arranged to be shifted from the track center by changing the tilt (radial tilt) in the track direction become almost equal, is detected by changing the track center, and by this detection, the track position (track offset) where the signal amplitudes of each prepit arranged to be shifted from the track center become almost equal and maximum, and the radial tilt position are simultaneously decided.
