PURPOSE: A method for designing and realizing an MCML(Motion Capture Markup Language) is provided to newly define an MCML, and to convert a captured motion data file according to a defined standard format, then to divide the data file in meaningful information unit to store the divided data file in a DB, thereby easily reusing and exchanging motion capture data. CONSTITUTION: A system defines a mapping relation between names of ASF/AMC, BVH, HTR file formats showing human body joints and names of an MCML defined as a standard format(S10). The system defines a mapping relation between names of BVH, ASF/AMC, HTR files showing header information and the names of the MCML(S20). The system defines a mapping relation between names of ASF/AMC, BVH, HTR files showing joint hierarchical information and the names of the MCML(S30). The system defines a mapping relation between names of ASF/AMC, BVH, HTR files showing motion information and the names of the MCML(S40). The system performs a process of converting, retrieving, editing, re-processing, and retargeting motion capture data based on the MCML(S50).
