PURPOSE: A photographing apparatus having an automatic focusing control function is provided to decide whether a flickering operation is conducted, and to compensate a change of automatic focusing data in accordance with the flickering operation, thereby exactly adjusting a focus by using thee automatic focusing data where a flickering component is removed. CONSTITUTION: A controller(160) overall controls operations of a photographing apparatus by using automatic control data inputted from a DSP(150), and detects whether a flickering operation is conducted by confirming periodicity of increase/decrease patterns of automatic focusing data inputted from the DSP(150). If the flickering operation is conducted, the controller(160) calculates compensation data for compensating a change of the automatic focusing data. The controller(160) calculates the compensation data by subtracting the automatic focusing data of a previous field from an average value of the automatic focusing data inputted for a predetermined period. The controller(160) controls a lens driving portion(115) so that the automatic focusing data can be maximum.
