PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an interphone system in which wiring of a camera apparatus is simplified. SOLUTION: In the interphone system, a Web camera 403 which is a camera apparatus is connected to a master unit 1 via a hub 404. The Web camera 403 converts a picked-up image to a digital signal, compresses the digital signal and transmits the compressed digital signal to the master unit 1 via the Internet or an IP network such as a terminal LAN. In the master unit 1, image data received from the Web camera 403 are displayed on a screen of a monitor device 37 by a Web browser and the image data is presented to a user. Thus, the master unit 1 and the Web camera 403 are connected via the network (terminal LAN or the Internet), such that it is not necessary to directly connect the Web camera 403 to the master unit 1 similarly to a monitor camera 3b and a sensor camera 3a, thereby simplifying wiring work of the camera apparatus.
