PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shear tester suitable for applying a uniform shear load to a curved panel. SOLUTION: An arm 55 is extended from the center of a second curved side receiving frame 48 of an architrave frame 40 constituting this shear testing device in the face vertical direction of a curved panel 10, and an external force application point of the arm 55 is set in the position coincident with the shearing center 64 of the curved panel 10. Thus, since the edge of the curved panel 10 is pressed by the architrave frame 40 and keep plates 41-44, the edge deflection of the curved panel can be prevented. Since the external force application point is set in the shearing center position, a shear test can be performed without causing torsion on the curved panel. Consequently, the uniform shear load can be applied, and therefore accurate shearing characteristic (strength or the like) can be measured by this invention. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
