PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic particle type electromagnetic coupling device having a reduced size as a whole even when great torque is applied to an input shaft and allowing the rotating motion stop of an output shaft in a short time by reducing inertial moment on the side of the output shaft. SOLUTION: The electromagnetic coupling device has a Ravigneaux-type planetary gear mechanism 40. A driving member 2, a driven member 3 and the output shaft 52 are integrally coupled to a first sun gear 41 on the simple planetary side of the Ravigneaux-type planetary gear mechanism 40, to an internally toothed gear 43, and to a second sun gear 42 on a double planetary side, respectively.
