摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an engine and a motor/generator from over-speeding beyond a permissible rotational speed in a case of a failure of the motor/generator power system. <P>SOLUTION: When it is judged that either motor/generator or both can not be operated owing to the failure of the power system containing the motor/generator in a step S11, a power system performance is stopped in a step 13 in all the motor/generator including the one which regularly performs for the motor/generator. Consequently, the motor/generator is prevented from over-speeding. In the following step S14, the rotational speed at which the engine does not over-speed is obtained with a map retrieving.
