PVC CONNECTION INFORMATION MANAGING METHOD IN ATM EXCHANGE

PURPOSE: A PVC connection information managing method in an ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode) exchange is provided to make both PVC connection information identical by automatically comparing a PVC(Permanent Virtual Circuit) connection information of a control system board and PVC connection information of a matching system board when either board is switched or dismounted. CONSTITUTION: When an AMPA(ATM Main Processor board Assembly) detects that duplexed AMPA or CCCP(Call and Connection Control Processor) is switched or dismounted(S2), the AMPA reports corresponding situation to an operator(S4), initiates an inserted timer(S6) and determines whether counted time reaches a pre-set time(S8). If the counted time reaches the pre-set time, the AMPA requests PVC information from the CCCP(S10). When the PVC connection information is received, the AMPA compares it with its own PVC connection information(S12). If two PVC connection information are not identical(S14), the AMPA displays an alarm message to an EMS(Elementary Management System) or informs the operator accordingly(S16). The AMPA determines whether a correction command on the PVC connection information is inputted from the EMS(S18). When the correction command is inputted, the AMPA deletes only the discordant portion of the PVC connection information of the CCCP, and transfers the PVC connection information on the basis of the PVC connection information stored in the AMPA to make the two PVC connection information identical(S20).
