PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the intermediate part of a retainer from lifting up and prevent dimension in widthwise direction from becoming large-sized in a connector which is slender in the widthwise direction. SOLUTION: In a formation region of a lock arm 13 installed at the center in the widthwise direction on the upper face of a housing 11, as for a cavity 12 in which smaller number of stages are set up than the ones in the adjacent other parts, a retainer is provided with a barrier rib 25 which is inserted into the adjacent place of the respective cavity 12 except for the intermediate part 24 corresponding to the formation region of the lock arm 13. The barrier rib 25A which is adjacent to the both sides of the intermediate part 24 is enabled to be locked by being overlapped with the both side faces of the stage part 14 protruding in the lower face side of the housing 11 corresponding to the formation region of the lock arm 13.
