ANTENNA SYSTEM FOR CHANGING BEAM WIDTH AND METHOD FOR VARYING BEAM WIDTH USING THE SAME

PURPOSE: An antenna system for changing beam width and a method for varying beam width using the same are provided to change the beam width by increasing and reducing a superposed area between a dielectric and an antenna feeding line. CONSTITUTION: An antenna system for changing beam width includes a plurality of antenna elements(11 to 1n) and a beam width change unit. The antenna elements(11 to 1n) are arranged in a line. The beam width change unit changes the beam width by increasing or reducing a phase difference between RF power signals applied to one or more antenna elements. The beam width change unit includes an antenna feeding line(8), a dielectric, and a gear unit. The antenna feeding line(8) is connected to the antenna elements in order to supply the RF power to the antenna elements. The dielectric is superposed on the antenna elements. The gear unit changes the beam width by increasing and reducing a superposed area between the dielectric and the antenna feeding line.
