PURPOSE: Provided is a therapeutic agent for the treatment of inflammatory disease, immune disorders or cancers, which contains, as an active ingredient, celastrol, celaphanol, sesquiterpene ester or an extract of Celastrus orbiculatus which inhibits the phosphorylation and decomposition of IkB and thus inhibits the transcription of NF-kB as well as the generation of iNOS, COX-2, TNF. CONSTITUTION: A therapeutic agent for the treatment of inflammatory disease, immune disorders or cancers is characterized by containing celastrol represented by the formula(1), celaphanol represented by the formula(2), sesquiterpene ester represented by the formula(3) or an extract of Celastrus orbiculatus as an active ingredient. In the formulae, R1 is hydrogen, a furanoic acid group, or an acetic acid group; R2 is a furanoic acid group or a benzoic acid group; R3 is hydrogen or an acetic acid group; and R4 is a furanoic acid group or a benzoic acid group.
