A method of operating a telecommunications device comprising a cordless part, a base station (B) and at least an authorised mobile part (X), in which the base station (B), prior to reception/recording is without a power supply, and the logged-on and authorised mobile part (X) prior to reception/recording, are ready for transmitting and recording/receiving. Initially, the power supply for the base station (B) is laid on, followed by annunciating that the base station is available (3) for logging on for signing on a further mobile part (Y), and the authorised mobile part (X) arranges for the base station to prematurely end the log-on readiness (3). |
