The stand comprises a pair of guides which are flat on one side and curved on the other and two plates with a slot along which the guide can be moved to provide a continuous adjustment in the up and down directions. Applying a force to the flat side of the guide in a vertical direction from above or below fixes it in the right side of the slot. Removing this pressure allows the guide to move freely.
