PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide misfire detection robust against disturbance such as rough road. SOLUTION: In a misfire detection device provided with a rotation detection means measuring time required for a crank shaft of an internal combustion engine to rotate fixed net angles, and signal processing device detecting misfire of the internal combustion engine by processing the required rotation time, two filters which have same sensitivity to frequency resulting from misfire and different sensitivity to peripheral frequency thereof are provided. Misfire is determined when a ratio or a difference of outputs of two filter is within a fixed range. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
