<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide corrosion diagnostic method for an overhead line and its apparatus, capable of safely and easily diagnosing the corrosive degree of an electric cable laid at a high elevation. <P>SOLUTION: This corrosion diagnostic apparatus comprises a self-propelled traveling device 2 traveling on an overhead transmission line 1, without the assistance of an attendant; a water droplet collecting mechanism 6, which is installed on the traveling device 2 and collects water droplets adhering to the overhead transmission line 1; and a collection container 8, which is installed on the traveling device 2 and collects water content collected by the water droplet collecting mechanism 6. The traveling device 2 is made to travel on the transmission line 1. By analyzing the water content collected by means of the water droplet collecting mechanism 6, after collecting it in the collection container 8, the corrosive degree of the overhead transmission line 1 can be diagnosed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
