PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for adjusting level of microphone by which the input level (sensitivity) of a microphone can be adjusted on the basis of a reference input level (absolute sensitivity) without requiring any specific sound source and, at the same time, the fluctuation of input levels (sensitivities) between microphones can be suppressed. SOLUTION: By the method and device for adjusting level of microphone, the input levels of a plurality of nondirectional microphones in a prescribed frequency band are extracted from the input signals of the microphones and the level difference between the extracted input levels is detected by using one of the extracted input levels as the reference level. Then a level difference signal is generated based on the detected level difference and the level difference between the nondirectional microphones is adjusted by using the microphone from which the reference input level is extracted as a reference nondirectional microphone by respectively controlling the input levels of the microphones on the basis of the level control signal corresponding to the generated level difference signal. In addition, the level control signal generated when the adjustment of the input level difference is completed is stored and the input levels of the microphones are adjusted based on the stored level control signal.
