The wind turbine generator has a rotor (1) and a stator (2) positioned radially outside the rotor, with winding heads (21) at its ends. The stator and rotor are enclosed by a closed housing (3) and cooled via a closed ventilation system having a cooling device (5) positioned within the space enclosed by the stator, with radial ventilation slits (12,23) provided in the rotor and stator lamination packets (10,22). An Independent claim for a ventilation method for a wind turbine generator is also included.
