PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide waste paper-blended light wrapping paper which has a high tensile strength and a high tear strength, can prevent the occurrence of a breaking trouble and the like, and has good printing suitability. SOLUTION: This waste paper pulp-blended light wrapping paper is characterized by containing magazine waste paper pulp in an amount of 10≥% and having a tensile strength of 12.0KN/m defined by JIS-P 8113 and a tear strength of≥15.0mN×m<SP>2</SP>/g defined by JIS-P 8116. The method for producing magazine waste paper-containing waste paper pulp is characterized by separating impurities from a fiber suspension with a screen having a slit width or hole diameter of≤0.12mm, disposing an automatic impurity-measuring device on the accept side or reject side of the screen, and changing the reject rate of the screen in a range of≥10% so that the measurement result of the impurities becomes a target value or less.
