PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pipe contracting device which is used without exchanging a drawing die even when the drawing die is worn, and adaptable to any case when the contraction dimension is diversified without exchanging the die. SOLUTION: In the pipe contracting device to form a contracted portion 1b in a pipe by moving at least one member of a drawing die and the pipe in a pressed manner against the other member side along the axis of the pipe, an inner surface 4a of a drawing die 3 is formed to a desired die surface and an outer surface 4b is formed in a tapered surface inclined in the axial direction, and the drawing die has split dies 4 which are split into a plurality of portions in the circumferential direction and movable in the axial direction and the direction orthogonal to the axial direction. The pipe contracting device further comprises a holder 5 which is disposed outside the split dies 4 and has a tapered surface 5a to be brought into slidable contact with the tapered outer surface 4b of the split dies 4, and a movable member 6 to set the position in the axial direction of the split dies 4.
