PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phone function attached communication terminal provided with an electronic mail function wherein a speech caller side terminal can record a message and utilize a telephone directory function and the electronic mail function provided to the terminal in the case of transmitting the recorded message. SOLUTION: When making call to an opposite party on the basis of a 'phone address' of the opposite party selected and designated from a telephone directory file, a caller VoIP terminal 2 receives a reply from the opposite party to discriminate its reply state, records a voice message entered to be addressed to the opposite party after informing a user to urge recording of the voice message when the reply state is other than a normal reply denoting a speech available state, reads a 'mail address' cross-referenced with the opposite party from the telephone directory file and transmits the recorded voice message as voice mail to the mail address.
