Ink-jet recording medium for pigment ink comprises ink-receiving layer(s) on a support. The layer(s) is formed from particles of weight average particle diameter 50-500 nm of a copolymer of glass transition temperature >= 80[deg]C comprising (A) styrene and/or methyl methacrylate, and (B) another copolymerizable monomer. Independent claims are also included for: (1) the manufacture of the recording medium by coating a coating liquid containing these particles on a support, press contacting the coated surface with a roll, and making flat; and (2) a recorded matter where letters and/or pictures are recorded with a pigment ink on the recording medium.
