Composite part for a motor vehicle

Component consists of a layer (1) of semi-rigid material edged with a strip (2) of over-molded rigid thermoplastic. It also has fastenings (3) i.e. staples or clips for fastening the component to a vehicle's bodywork. The thermoplastic material is injected under pressure to penetrate the semi-rigid material. The fastenings can be made in one piece with the strip or inserted through holes.
