PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control cable which materializes reduction of sliding resistance and improvement of durability by preventing oil film shortage of lubricating oil on an outer peripheral surface of an inner cable. SOLUTION: The control cable 5 is equipped with the inner cable 22 in which the outer peripheral surface of a metal stranded wire 47 is covered with a synthetic resin made coating layer 48, an outer tube 21 in which a steel wire 45 is helically wound to freely slidably guide the inner cable 22 and whose outer peripheral surface is coated with a coating layer 46, and a synthetic resin made liner 23 arranged between the outer tube 21 and the inner cable 22. By forming a lubricating oil retaining groove 48a in the synthetic resin made coating layer 48 for covering the outer peripheral surface of the inner cable 22, oil film shortages of lubricating oil in the sliding parts of the inner peripheral surface of the liner 23 and the outer peripheral surface of the coating layer 48 can be prevented, which leads to reduction of sliding resistance and improvement of durability.
