<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operability of starting by an electronic key by smoothly starting a control device in the middle of a series of motion of a user at the time of riding on an actual vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: In this electronic key system for a two wheeler having the control device loaded on the actual vehicle and a portable transmitter the user carries, the actual vehicle is furnished with a seat 108 to open and close on which the user is seated and a starting switch 70 to be used to start the control device is provided in the seat 108. Concretely, the starting switch 70 is set inside of the seat 108 and at a position corresponding to a part where the user makes contact with the seat 108 in opening the seat 108 out of, for example, a left side surface of the seat 108.
