<p>An optical base with a hard-coat layer, not exhibiting an interference pattern even if the difference in index of refraction between the base and the hard-coat is large, and an antireflection film using such an optical base with a hard-coat are disclosed. The optical base has a transparent base, one or more interference pattern countermeasure layers on the transparent base, and a hard-coat layer over the interference pattern countermeasure layers. The complex index of refraction nH-ik to light of 550 nm wavelength of the hard-coat layer is nH =1.45 to 1.59, and k is substantially 0. If the optical admittance at the interface between the interference pattern countermeasure layer and the hard-coat layer is expressed by (x+iy), x and y satisfy the inequalities (x-nH)<2>+Y<2><=0.08.</p> |
