<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat accumulation type ammonia decomposition equipment which prevents a raw material gas from getting mixed into an exhaust gas even when a gas flow is switched and which can be made a small-sized one with a simple structure. <P>SOLUTION: In the ammonia decomposition equipment when the inlet temperature (the preheating and mixing chamber temperature Tm) of a raw material gas flowing from a gas preheating chamber 3 to the side of an ammonia decomposition catalyst 5 is lower than the lower-limit reaction temperature TmL at which the ammonia decomposition catalyst 5 reacts, a preheating heater 2 is caused to generate heat to raise the temperature in a raw material gas preheating and mixing chamber 3 up to the lower-limit reaction temperature TmL; and when the catalyst outlet temperature Tc in the vicinity of the lower end part of the ammonia decomposition catalyst 5 rises to at least the heat-resisting temperature of the ammonia decomposition catalyst 5, the difference ΔT between the temperature at the inlet and the temperature at the outlet of the ammonia decomposition catalyst 5 is controlled so as to satisfy the relation: ▵TH=(TcH-TmL) by increasing the amount of air supplied by an air blower M and appropriately adjusting the amount of inflow air (Qair) fed into a catalyst/heat accumulation chamber 4. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
