PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a microcapsule having excellent mechanical characteristics by forming the wall of the microcapsule easily by radical polymerization while effectively advancing the radical polymerization reaction on the interface and to provide the microcapsule manufactured thus and a reversibly displaying medium using the microcapsule. SOLUTION: In the method of manufacturing a microcapsule, the wall of the microcapsule is formed by polymerizing an electron donating monomer (C) and an electron accepting monomer (D) radically in such a state that the monomers (C) and (D) are dispersed respectively in an oil-soluble solvent (A) and a water-soluble solvent (B).
