PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the various problems caused by contamination by ink remaining on a surface of the recording head of an inkjet recorder. SOLUTION: This inkjet recorder is equipped with an inkjet recording head 3 having a nozzle sheet 2 including a plurality of ink ejection nozzles 1 formed thereon. A hydrophilic layer 2a is formed on the surface of the nozzle sheet 2 and a liquid-absorptive cleaning means 4 adapted to clean the surface of the nozzle sheet 2 is provided to the inkjet recorder. The hydrophilic layer is of an ultra hydrophilic layer, such as a TiO<SB>2</SB>layer having a photocatalyst function. The inkjet recorder has a light emitting device for emitting a light on the surface of the nozzle sheet 2. The liquid absorptive cleaning means 4 is preferably in a type of a liquid absorptive cleaning roll. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
