PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which stably forms good images over a long period of time when using transfer paper of high quality, as a matter of course, and when using low quality transfer paper as well by using a positively electrifying type organic photoreceptor and using reversal developing method. SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus carrying out image formation by the positively electrifying reversal developing method, an electrifying means, an exposure means, a developing means, a transfer means and a cleaning means are installed in the periphery of the positively electrifying type organic photoreceptor. The cleaning means is constituted of a cleaning blade and a fur brush which is installed on an upstream side of the blade in the moving direction of the photoreceptor. The brush material of the fur brush is non-conductive polyamide. A destaticizing means is installed in a position which is on a downstream side from the transfer means and on an upstream side of the cleaning means in the moving direction of the photoreceptor.
