PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sterilize and deodorize the inside of an indoor machine by ultraviolet ray while inhibiting the deterioration of components of the indoor machine by the irradiation of ultraviolet ray. SOLUTION: This air conditioner is provided with a laterally long cylindrical duct 3 having an air intake port 3a as an air communicating hole on its upper face and an air blow-out port 3b on its side face, on a top part side of indoor heat exchangers 10b, 10c of the indoor machine. In the duct 3, an ultraviolet ray lamp 4 is accommodated, and the ultraviolet ray lamp 4 is controlled to be switched on and off by a remote controller. The sterilizing and deodorizing operation radiating the ultraviolet ray is performed in the duct 3, and the air sterilized and deodorized in the duct 3, and the ozone generated in the duct 3 are blown out into the indoor machine casing.
