Efficient messaging in a parallel processing system

The method involves the first compute node setting a message header field to a predetermined value and sending the message, and the second compute node receiving and processing the message header, and reading a memory location in accordance with contents of a base address register and an index register. The second compute node further storing the message in memory at a storage address determined according to contents of the memory location, using Direct Memory Access.
