The coupling rods (4) for rail traction car units with their directional articulation plates (5) on the end facing the end traction car have at least two but no more that three coupling rod end section (7) pieces which are pivot-mounted at least on a support bearing plate (6) and movable at least axially. The coupling rod end sections, upon which are installed pressure side individual spring elements (8.1), are installed paired and spaced apart parallel in the side outer end region of the directional articulation plate.
