METHOD FOR PREPARING TITANIUM DIOXIDE AS FINE PARTICLES GIVING TITANIUM DIOXIDE-CONTAINING FILM

PURPOSE: Provided is a method for preparing titanium dioxide as a fine particle, which suitably gives a titanium dioxide-containing film having sufficient photocatalytic activity and a smooth surface. CONSTITUTION: The method for preparing titanium dioxide comprises the steps of: (1) mixing a titanium compound, a base having 2.1-3 times as much hydroxyl groups as the molar ratio of the titanium atom in the titanium compound, and a foaming agent, simultaneously or continuously; and (2) baking the solid obtained by mixing the titanium compound, base and foaming agent simultaneously or continuously. The method may further comprise the step for aging the solid before baking.
