PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an isocyanate compound having less discoloration industrially advantageously. SOLUTION: This method for producing the isocyanate compound by introducing phosgene into an organic solvent solution of a carbonate salt of a corresponding amine compound to perform the reaction of carbonate salt of the amine compound with phosgene is characterized by starting the introduction of phosgene into the organic solvent solution of the carbonate salt at or lower temperature than the decomposing temperature of the carbonate salt.
