PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep the clearance between a photoreceptor belt and a developing roller constant.
SOLUTION: Developing rollers 26 face the outer circumferential surface of the photoreceptor belt 12 without contact. These developing rollers 26 scatter developer to the photoreceptor drum 12 for image transfer. For the purpose, counter rollers 28 come into slide contact with the inner circumferential surface of the photoreceptor belt at positions opposite to the developing rollers 26, and the clearance between the photoreceptor belt 12 and developing rollers 26 are restricted not to exceed a specified value. Further, drum type rollers 30 having both ends tapered along the axis come into slide contact with the photoreceptor belt 12 at positions downstream and upstream the rotating direction of the photoreceptor belt 12 with the counter rollers 28 interposed therebetween to deform both widthwise ends of the photoreceptor belt 12 toward the inner circumferential surface side. This deformation makes the photoreceptor belt 12 come into contact with the counter rollers 28 over the entire width, and hence the clearance between the photoreceptor belt 12 and developing roller 26 is held constant over the entire widthwise area.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
