<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make detectable an offset value of a current sensor that detects a motor current, even during the operation of an SR (switched reluctance) motor. <P>SOLUTION: While the SR motor is operated at a medium-low speed, a detected value of the current sensor that detects the motor current by detecting a non-energized period, which exists in the motor current of each phase, is taken as a sample, and the sampled value is detected as an offset value of the current sensor.
