<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a file management device encrypting file data while adding a machine code to manage the data so as to enhance security for the management of the file data. <P>SOLUTION: A digital copier 1 encrypts a variety of data and stores them in a large capacity storage part 7 as digital file data. With the machine code of the digital copier 1 and an input password attached to the file data, the file data are stored in the large capacity storage part 7. The file data stored in the large capacity storage part 7 are managed according to the machine code and the password. Thus, even if the file data are fetched illicitly, they cannot be analyzed.
