<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a delivery status management system for constantly updating delivery data managed by a database of a management device on a real time basis, and taking a sufficient security countermeasures. <P>SOLUTION: The delivery status management system comprises a registration terminal, a management device, and a portable terminal. The registration terminal reads a bar code attached to the delivery by a bar code scanner, and registers data for managing the identification code, the delivery number, the delivery status and the date for each delivery and other data on the delivery in a memory, and transmits registered data to the management device via an exclusive network. The portable terminal registers data to manage the delivery number and the delivery status in the memory, reads the bar code from the delivery by a bar code scanner, updates data for managing the delivery status, and transmits by radio the updated contents to the management device together with the delivery number. The management device registers registered data from the registration terminal in the database, and updates data for managing the applicable delivery status and date of the delivery in the database when receiving data for managing the delivery number and the delivery status from the portable terminal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
