<p>The printer has sheet support ribs extending across an ink collector from sheet feeding and discharging sides. The support ribs on the sheet feeding side are not aligned in the sheet feeding direction with the support ribs on the sheet discharge side. A controller is configured to mask nozzle control signals according to position of sheet being printed with respect to the ink collector. An independent claim is also included for a shingling method to provide edge printing.</p>
