摘要 PURPOSE: A power allocation and rate control method of an OFDMA system is provided to transmit more than one block of continuous waveforms orthogonal to each other through a channel by using a selected transmit power and a selected rate to each wireless unit. CONSTITUTION: A base station of a wireless communication system initially generates more than one pilot signal(20). At least one CQI(Channel Quality Information) signal is transmitted by each wireless unit(30). The base station selects a transmit power for each wireless unit which receives the CQI signals(40). Before selecting the transmit power for each wireless unit, the base station selects a rate for each wireless unit(50). The base station starts transmitting data through a downlink(60).
