<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a socket for a discharge lamp for a vehicle, whose electric contact disposed on a peripheral portion of a socket base can be contacted well with lead wires guided by a cylindrical tube, and to provide the discharge lamp for the vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: The socket 11 for the discharge lamp for the vehicle has the socket base 12, where a hole 18 whose section has snowman silhouette shape, consisting of a large hole 19 and a small hole 20, is formed. The cylindrical tube 23 which covers and protects the lead wire 32 led from another electrode 29 of the discharge lamp 26 is inserted into the large hole 19, and a lead wire 24 protruded aslant from the cylindrical tube 23 is inserted into the small hole 20. The lead wire 24 is connected with a lead wire connecting portion 21 of another electric contact 14 of a pair of electrical contacts. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
